Marzieh Ghasemi

Marzieh Ghasemi is an Associate Professor in the Earth, Energy and Environmental Sciences Department at Utah Tech University. She joined the faculty in 2019 and has a background in environmental engineering and environmental science, with a focus on water and wastewater quality and treatment. Ghasemi teaches a wide range of courses, including water resources, hydrology, environmental science and waste management.

RESEARCH & INTERESTS

  • Ghasemi’s research focuses on environmental pollution, wastewater treatment, solid waste management and water quality. Her doctoral work optimized wastewater treatment using chemical by-products. At Utah Tech, she has expanded her projects to include monitoring waste production in Washington County and collaborating with the Utah Division of Water Quality to study cyanobacterial presence in the Lower Virgin River.
